Research and transparency

NuGROWS Research Library

A clear guide to the published light-science research that informs how NuGROWS thinks about wavelength, product format, placement, and care rhythm.

The evidence compass

Not all evidence answers the same question

We separate broader category research from product-design interpretation and direct product evidence. This distinction helps keep research useful without overstating what it establishes.

Category research

What researchers studied

Published work concerning photobiomodulation, red and near-infrared light, and home-use light-care formats.

Design translation

What informed our thinking

How category research contributes to questions about wavelength, coverage, proximity, format, and routine.

Product evidence

What must be demonstrated directly

Claims about a specific NuGROWS product require evidence that directly supports that product, use, and market context.

What we read and why

Home-use light care

Reviews of home-use light devices provide category background for bringing structured light-care rituals into everyday settings.

Helmet and cap formats

Published helmet-format research helps inform questions about coverage and hands-free scalp-care design.

Comb and brush formats
Comb-style research informs the design logic of parting hair to create a clearer path toward the scalp.

Red and near-infrared light

Published parameter and mechanism literature provides background for wavelength selection and dual-wave product design.

Our reading method

How we assess a research paper

We separate broader category research from product-design interpretation and direct product evidence. This distinction helps keep research useful without overstating what it establishes.

Identify the study question

We first establish what the researchers actually set out to examine.

Check the device and parameters

Wavelength, power, dose, session length, placement, and product format can materially change relevance.

Review the people and setting

Study population, duration, comparison group, and use conditions define how narrowly findings should be read.

Separate findings from interpretation

We distinguish reported study outcomes from broader explanations or commercial conclusions.

How we assess a research paperResearch-informed does not mean outcome-guaranteed

References in this library are provided as background for the broader light-care category and for NuGROWS design thinking. Unless explicitly identified as direct NuGROWS product research, they should not be interpreted as clinical proof of a NuGROWS product outcome.

NuGROWS products support personal wellness rituals and are not presented as substitutes for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
